                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY
                   LOCATED SOUTHWEST FROM EAST 31ST STREET,
                   BETWEEN 5TH AVENUE AND 6TH AVENUE, MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned an alley located southwest from East 31st Street, 

         between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue, more particularly described
         herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part
         hereof by reference:
        
                A 12 foot wide alleyway beginning on the southwest
                line of East 31st Street 135 feet southeast of the
                intersection of the southwest line of East 31st
                Street with the southeast line of 5th Avenue, and
                extending southwest 430 feet between parallel
                lines, and parallel to 5th Avenue, to the northeast
                line of East 32nd Street.  Said alleyway separates
                lots 1-4, block 2, from lots 13-16, block 2,
                LeClercq's Addition to East Lake, as shown by plat
                of record in deed book G, volume 8, page 659, ROHC,
                and lots 5-8, and G, block 3, from lots 9-12, and
                F, block 3, LeClercq's Addition to East Lake, as
                shown by plat of record in deed book W, volume 8,
                page 556, ROHC.  Tax Map No. 156O-G-1-15.

              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this
         Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its 
passage
         as provided by law.
